Meet the Team
Head of Athletics
Coach Teddy Gainer is the Head of Athletics at Coach Teddy Basketball, where he oversees day to day operations as well as coach/trains athletes throughout the state of Washington. His sessions are high energy, challenging, authentic and supportive. Prior to opening the doors at CTB in 2017, Coach Teddy was a trainer at Georgian College working under Tarry Upshaw (Team Canada), he also partnered (currently) with multiple public and private organizations/institutions.
Coach Teddy attended University in Toronto, Cananda and currently lives in Samammish, WA with his family. In his free time he enjoys hanging out with his two daughters Denise and Whitney.

Lead Trainer
Coach Russell is a passionate leader with a focus on inspiring and developing young people. Born and raised in the state of Washington coach Russell was an avid athlete. Playing basketball through High school and college where he perused a degree in sociology. With 15 years of coaching experience from Boys and girls club to High school basketball he has gained valuable experience that he applies to his work with CTB and AMC. His leadership philosophy emphasizes teamwork, empathy, self/social awareness, all while fostering a fun, happy, and approachable atmosphere. In his free time he enjoys spending time with his two sons Marsalis and Zayden.
Rusell Stell
Skills Trainer
Coach Damion began playing basketball at a later age than most people not picking up and
playing organized basketball until his freshman year. He continued to develop and play for three
years of high school varsity team. Along with AAU basketball in his hometown Louisville, KY. He
offers a lot of insight for the game and continues to teach and help develop players younger and
older at PRO sports club, CTB and Eastlake basketball where he coaches a select team.
In his free time you can coach Damion playing basketball, listening to music, watching tv shows/
movies, out with friends and enjoying the small things in life.

Skills Trainer
CTB skills trainer Coach Schea has been a basketball mentor and coach since 2019. Coming
from a background as a college athlete for Enderun Colleges in the Phillippines and a point
guard in the Guam National Men’s Basketball Team, Coach Schea aims to motivate and inspire
the youth. The skills trainer specializes in developing players' fundamental skills and basketball
IQ through live and intense workouts.
Coach Schea moved from the island of Guam to Seattle, Washington with a strong passion for
coaching and a love for basketball.

I LOVE the game of basketball! I am a firm believer that above everything, this game will teach
you important life skills that will translate to life off of the court. I have played at a high level -
All-League, All-District, All-Region and All-State in the state of Washington, as well as playing
D1, D2 and NAIA at the collegiate level, withany of my peers having gone to either play or
coach in the NBA. I am excited to give my basketball experiences to the youth in our community
Eric Wattree
Skills Trainer
Katie is currently playing for Princeton University, where she is a member of the class of '25 studying public and international affairs. She graduated from Roosevelt High School in Seattle, where she started all four years and had over 1200 career points and 600 rebounds. She was named to Second-Team All-Metro League Team her sophomore and junior years (there was no voting her senior year due to covid). In 2019 she was named Rider MVP and Pacific Northwest Basketball Official's Association Player of the Year, and she helped lead the team to the state tournament her sophomore year, their first appearance in 12 years.
Katie Thiers
Office Manager
April Dorong is our office manager at Coach Teddy Basketball, she oversees administration, scheduling and community engagement. She also manages the CTB platform, while creating and delivering content to our followers. Prior to CTB, April was a trainer for a BPO company in the Philippines, where she helped prepare employees for success in their new roles.
In her free time she enjoys watching movies.
